Approximate

Approximate means a number or amount that is close to the real one but not exactly the same, like saying you have about 10 candies when you actually have 9 or 11.

Examples

• The approximate number of candies in the jar was around fifty, but we didn't count them exactly.
• When we measured the length of the table, we found it to be an approximate six feet long.
• For our science project, we needed an approximate weight of the rock, so we guessed it was about two pounds.
